Headed to the Louisiana coast for some fishing fun? Louisiana is home to such fish species as speckled trout, redfish and bass. We have basic lures that will help you catch big game on your next fishing adventure!

In Louisiana we never need much of an excuse to go fishing.  After all with close access to world class fishing waters and moderate temperatures year round we can almost always count on catching something! Springtime does however bring some special opportunities to catch HUGE speckled trout along Louisiana’s coast.  Proof of this fact is reflected in the state record book for speckled trout (or spotted seatrout) as 7 of the top 10 trout ever caught in Louisiana were landed during April and May.

Jazz and Country music lovers rejoice! The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival is coming to the city for seven days and stretches across the weekends of April 29th and May 8th. This festival is considered the country's best, and who can argue with such a diverse lineup that includes Kid Rock, Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffet and Willie Nelson, among others.

For those that love fishing for shrimp, you won't have to wait much longer. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced that there will be two shrimp seasons taking place. The shrimping will start bright and early at 6 am on April 18th.
