Iberia Parish in Louisiana has long been recognized as the home of Avery Island, where the peppers for Tabasco has been grown for decades. However, it is also home to the city of New Iberia, along with Lydia, Loreauville and Jeanerette, filled with its rich and unique culture. Bon Creole Seafood Restaurant

The Bon Creole Seafood Restaurant is situated on St. Peter St., in New Iberia, Louisiana, which is often referred to as the heart of the Cajun back woods country. This amazing “lunch counter” is recognized all throughout southern Louisiana for their over-stuffed signature po’ boy sandwiches. They offer a variety of seafood baskets, homemade burgers, chicken baskets, homemade gumbo and soups and their po boy sandwiches. They run daily lunch specials including Red Beans & Rice with sausage every Monday as is a tradition in Louisiana.

Jane’s Seafood and Chinese Restaurant

Located on Jane Street in New Iberia, Louisiana, Jane’s Seafood and Chinese Restaurant is open every day of the week except Monday. This family-run business has been in operation for over 20 years and serving the residents and guests of Iberia Parish. Their extensive southern Louisiana menu includes bite-size catfish, and fried crab fingers. They offer a wide array of seafood platters that include catfish, oysters and shrimp. Their po boy sandwiches are offered in a variety of seafood choices including shrimp, crawfish, catfish and oyster. Jane’s is known for their specialties including crawfish étouffée, shrimp étouffée, seafood platters and fried soft shell crabs.

While their seafood entrées and appetizers are recognized as some of the best in Iberia Parish, they are also known for their Chinese food that include a variety of Lo Mein dishes, poultry including Moo Goo Gai Pan and Cashew Chicken, Pepper Steak, Beef Broccoli, Cashew Shrimp, Baby Corn Imperial and Hunan Shrimp. Located on Lewis St. in New Iberia Louisiana, the Hot Wok Restaurant offers traditional Chinese fare. Many of these savory dishes include roast pork, moo shu, seafood dishes, lo mein, fried rice, sweet & sour platters, Thai food, chef’s specials and combination plates. They offer a huge array of lunch specials from roast pork or chicken chow Mein, to bourbon chicken, boneless spare ribs, Gen. Tso Chicken and other traditional dishes.

Because Hot Wok Restaurant is located so close to the Gulf of Mexico, they offer a large assortment of seafood dishes including curry shrimp, Szechwan shrimp, sweet & sour combo and shrimp egg foo young, along with traditional meat, chicken and pork specialty dishes.
