Can’t Miss Dining Options in Terrebonne Parish

Terrebonne Parish is home to the Mandalay National Wildlife Refuge and communities that include Houma, Bayou Cane, Gray, Shriever, Montegut, Dulac and Chauvin. The Parish is situated along the southern portion of the state of Louisiana, right along the Gulf of Mexico.

First established in 1822, the area is rich with a diversity of cultures. Deep in Bayou country, many of the Cajuns settled in this area hundreds of years ago, with descendents that still reside here today. Because the natural resources of the area include crabs, shrimp and oysters, many of the local eateries in the communities in Terrebonne Parish have access to fresh seafood every day.

Cristiano Ristorante

Cristiano Ristorante is located on High St., in Houma, Louisiana. Open seven days a week, they offer an extensive classic menu that includes Lasagna, Grilled Chicken Breasts, Black Truffle Ravioli, Veal Scallopini, Crusted Rack of Lamb, Rib Eye Steak (Black  Angus) and Osso Buco. Their appetizers include char-grilled oysters, bruschetta, Pomodoro Verde and fried calamari. Guess should not leave the restaurant without enjoying one of the amazing desserts including Tiramisu, traditional Louisiana bread pudding or the assortment of petifores.

Coco Marina Lighthouse Restaurant

Located on pier 56 in Chauvin Louisiana, the Coco Marina Lighthouse Restaurant offers their guests a menu filled with local fresh seafood and down-home cooking favorites. The restaurant provides an amazing setting along the coastal waters of southern Louisiana. This casual, relaxed atmosphere and extensive menu of gourmet specialties and tasty appetizers offer a rich and rewarding dining experience, that is unavailable anywhere else near this location.

Big Al’s Seafood Restaurant

Located on Tunnel Boulevard, in Houma, Louisiana, Big Al’s Seafood Restaurant offers an extensive southern Louisiana menu. This includes chicken & sausage or seafood gumbo, turtle soup, fried alligator (in season), fried calamari, soft shell crabs, fried catfish, fried oysters, jalapeño cheese poppers and crawfish pie. Their boiled seafood menu includes crawfish, crabs, shrimp, potatoes and corn. The Casa Del Sol Restaurant has two locations in Houma, Louisiana, on Monarch Drive and Grand Caillou Rd. They offer an extensive menu that includes Seafood Chimichangas, Rellenos, Quesadillas, Enchilada and Taco Platters, Tamale Dinners, Tostadas, Enchiladas Verde, Enchiladas with Mole Sauce and Flautas.

Boudreau and Thidodeau’s

Boudreau and Thidodeau’s Restaurant offers fine Cajun cuisine, that represents the best of southern Louisiana cooking. Their extensive menu includes a Cajun sampler with popcorn shrimp, fried oysters, crispy onion rings, boudin (Cajun sausage) links and more. They also have alligator appetizers, crawfish kickers and fried dill pickles.
